TBRA Point Series

Each season TBRA offers BAR (best area rider) point-series competitions for individuals in the road and mountain bike disciplines. These point-series are called the TBAR competition(Tennessee Best Area Rider) and the TORBAR compeition (Tennessee Off Road Best Area Rider), respectively. In addition to the individual point-series competitions, TBRA offers team/club-based competitions for Tennessee teams/clubs.

TBAR and TORBAR competitions
Each category of competition is scored on an accumulated point system where the rider with the most accumulated points at the end of the season wins a BAR championship jersey. Each champion is to be awarded free entry into the TBRA events of the same discipline for the following calendar year season.

The BAR championship and jersey can only be awarded to a rider who is eligible under the provisions of the competition. For an explanation of the eligibility requirements review the rules for the TBAR and TORBAR competitions listed in the Documents Of Interest.

TBRA club competitions
There are two "Club Of The Year" awards, one for mountain bike racing and one for road racing. Both competitions are scored on an accumulated points system with the club/teams with the most points win "Club Of The Year". The yearly competitions accumulate the awarded BAR points earned by each Tennessee team/club's individual members. A team/club earns an additional 100 points for each race * it promotes. In a situation where two teams/clubs co-promote a race 50 points will be awared to each club. If a race is promoted under a "for profit" promoter then the club that promoter is associated with will receive co-sponsor points only. The team/club with the highest accumulated points at the end of the year will win the Best Tennessee Club award for either mountain bike racing or road racing.

The TBAR Club Of The Year competitions can only be awarded to TBRA clubs/teams in good standing with TBRA.

* TBRA defines a race as a single event, i.e. a road race, time trial, criterium or cross-country race.
